Student Enrichment Services Ltd was founded in 1985 in Brisbane, Australia by Rory Mulvey, a graduate of University College, Dublin. The first achievement of the company was to develop their flagship study skills seminar “Success in School”,which quickly became recognised as the ‘market leader’ in this specialist area of education.
Rory returned to Dublin in 1994 and has since continued to develop this unique study skills programme. SES is now invited into more than 350 schools and colleges throughout Ireland, to instruct students in their innovative learning techniques.
Ongoing research and development, by secondary school teachers and educational administrators, has led to further development of a range of new courses specifically designed for school students of all ages and ability levels.
“The key to our success,” explains Rory, “is the teachers who present the seminars. A great deal of care has been put into assembling and training a team of really excellent, experienced secondary school teachers. Teachers are chosen for their ability to motivate and communicate effectively with students of all backgrounds.”
Following a number of requests from school principals, SES has now developed a series of staff in-service seminars for teachers, which have proved to be very popular.
We have also introduced a very popular short course for Primary School students, (Sixth Class), titled “Transition from Primary to Secondary School”. This course is available from April – June.
We are continually carrying out our own research into learning techniques while, at the same time, keeping abreast with ongoing developments throughout the world into this fascinating area of human behaviour. We are now presenting courses to a diverse range of adult learners, from postgraduate students to those returning to study after many years.
